In Memory Of...

Jane Helen Lenz

Jane Lenz
October 21, 1913 - April 28, 2011

Jane spent the winter of 2009 in Manzanillo with her daughter, Judi, and niece, Carol Hofman, both dedicated PATA volunteers.  In addition to falling in love with Manzanillo's people and surroundings, Jane also enjoyed the stories Judi and Carol related about their work in PATA's free clinics.

Jane's attachment to animals was clear; in her younger years she ran a grooming business in Wisconsin, where she also raised a multitude of pets of her own, from bunnies to dogs and even a macaw.

Two years after her visit to Manzanillo, Jane died at the age of 97.  In her honor, her family and friends donated funds to help PATA continue their work, a very fitting tribute.

Lona Augier

Lona Augier

Long-time Manzanillo resident and animal-welfare advocate, Lona Augier has been honored by many, many friends with donations to PATA in her name.

Lona never lost sight of her goal. She was dedicated to alleviating animal suffering through sterilizing street animals.  To that end, she organized a successful mini-clinic in El Naranjo, a joint effort she orchestrated with PATA and ARA that reached many needy animals in that rural community.

Lona and husband, Jerry, will always be warmly remembered by the animal community as tireless supporters.  They both dedicated long hours and endless effort in making free sterilization available to Manzanillo's street animals.

Kate and Ed Preston's Beloved Boxer

Molly and her brother, Jefe, were litter mates. Jefe was the alpha dog but Molly thought it was her responsibility to keep him in-line. We were lucky to have her as part of our family for six years. We all miss her.
